MOM(シンガポール労働省)の1月28日付最新統計によれば、シンガポール人及び永住権保持者の新規雇用件数の上昇とともに、四半期ベースの失業率は改善したということ。
さらに言及すれば、昨年同時期の雇用数より9,300件上回っていて、コロナ前の状況にまで回復しているとの発表。
雇用トレンドに大きな伸びが見られたのは、情報コミュニケーションと金融セクター。
しかし、これら新規求人の職種・ポジションについて注目する必要がありそうだ。
実際、6万件を超える求人は、SGUnitedやSkillsパッケージにより創出されていて、その半数以下が、長期雇用を前提としていた。半数以上は、短期間雇用や試験雇用だったりというのが実情のようである。
故に、MOM発表の数値をそのまま受け取って、手放しで喜ぶべきものでもなさそうだ。
昨年一年で外国人人材を対象とした雇用は、181,500件減少した。(家事労働者は除く)
これらの空きポジションすべてが、再び外国人人材のみを対象に開かれることはおそらくなく、シンガポール市民を対象に徐々に雇用シフトすることが想定される。
企業の人事・雇用戦略はまだまだ手探り状態が続きそうである。

Singaporeans and permanent residents in employment rebounded to pre-Covid-19 levels, with growth of 9,300 from last year --- MOM announced last month.
But some questions remain, the Straits Times article reported.
What is the quality of employment that job seeker entered?
Almost 60,000 job seekers landed jobs offerred by the SGUnited Jobs and Skills Package by the end of October, less than half were in long-term jobs.
How about the foreign workforce in Singapore?
The sharp decline of 181,500 foreign workers (excluding domestic workers) caused the biggest contraction in total employment.
This could be an opportunity for companies to transform to be less reliant on foreigners.
